A New Energy Times reader asked us to spread the news that NASA was performing a replication attempt of the Rossi Ni-H LENR experiment.
The reader provided us with a statement from Jones Beene, posted to the Vortex Internet chat list.
“This is fabulous news! Spread it around the WWW – as it could open up funding for many who are doing Rossi replications,” Beene wrote. “Dr Dennis Bushnell (chief scientist at NASA’s Langley Research Center) has now gone public with NASA’s upcoming Rossi replication attempt! We had heard rumors of this two weeks ago, and were hoping that it would not become some kind of ‘black’ project. Now it looks like a ‘go’. Halleluiah!”
New Energy Times asked Bushnell about this and he confirmed that the rumor is false.
“We are NOT doing a Rossi Replication attempt,” Bushnell wrote, “although we are using/ had planned to use H2 and Nickel. We are doing experiments to verify, or not, the W-L theory.”
Perhaps it is not a Rossi replication attempt but it is the end of the apparent silence from the mainstream experimental physics community about the W-L theory.
One commenter on this blog said it’s been six years of background noise.
This is the first time I find so closely related both the Rossi experiment and the W-L theory.
Rossi has never said anything in favor of the W-L theory.
All this secrecy-mongering by Rossi spells bad times for us.
Patents, business deals etc. are proving to be the lecherous part of “science”. Actually they are not a part of science. Rossi is seting or following an unfortunate or evil trend.
Selfless-ness – that old abandoned ridiculed virtue – is what our civilization needs urgently.
Rossi disappoints me.
Where is an Einstein and where is this Rossi?
So the man (Rossi) provides energy at a fraction of current costs and you criticise him for being selfish? Get real. He made it work (not you or someone else) and the IP belongs to him. Rossi owes you nothing. Who are you to be disappointed? Cracks me up how self centered people like you are. He has every right to make money from this.

Rossi can make as much money as he wants to. I am only interested in the scientific value and correctness of his method and results. My disappointment with him is not that he does not transfer any money into my account. It is about his secrecy-mongering.
Rossi owes me nothing as a person. But he owes everything to mankind and to the scientists who worked before him. That is where his honesty and open-ness are asked for.
All those who have worked in the field of CF, esp in the Ni-H combination, have a right to know what he has achieved and how. It is about science and about making further thorough investigations into more variations and getting feed-backs.
Imagine 500 people are travelling in a train from A to B. And someone has his house on the way and he pulls the emergency chain and stops the train and jumps out when his house comes in view. (That is how it often happens in the countryside in India. I have experienced it myself and was quite disturbed by this behaviour of some rowdy people). Rossi is behaving like that.
You should re-think your understanding of the word “self-centered” before accusing me of it and then re-write your comment.
Rossi must treat us as dignified humans and not as all spies or as the ones who have to make him rich by buying his invention and asking no questions. “Just buy my product and make me rich/famous and don’t ask any questions” – if that is Rossi’s attitude then he is insulting human dignity.

I wrote about what our civilisation needs and not about what I personally need. So why do you call me self-centered?

“Thank you for publishing the correction of that misquote from EV World. We do not have enough details, by FAR, to even start to think of a replication of Rossi. Our experiments are based upon the earlier Piantelli-Focardi work, which were some of the better bits extant. BUT – we are as I said , trying to core down on the theory, as well as utilize it for system optimization. We are NOT trying to do a net energy demo at all, we are simply trying to MAKE SURE there is a valid theoretical understanding.”
