In one of the last appendices (#35) to our recent Report #3 on Andrea Rossi and his energy claim, we wrote about a videotaped demonstration of Rossi’s device by Mats Lewan of Swedish magazine Ny Teknik.
Lewan approaches the bucket and the hose. No steam is visible or audible. Two seconds later, it is. Lewan goes back to the main room, and his camera shows Rossi with his hand near the power controls. The power was supposed to be constant during the test.

Obviously, caught in the act of adjusting the input power higher, pausing and staring in alarm, and lying, repeating the lie three times… An analysis of the voice and breathing by experts would probably confirm this…

I noticed that the first time I watched the video.
As skeptical as I am of Rossi’s claims, I don’t think this enough to draw any safe conclusions. The noisiness may simply be a function of how the hose is directed into the bucket. If there is a lot of noise due to turbulence, the hose is likely to slightly readjust itself into a position with less turbulence and thus less noise.
I am very open to the possibility of trickery here, given the many cases of Rossi giving false information. But it would be a mistake to accuse him of a specific method of trickery based on insufficient evidence.

I’ve listened to it many times, and I can’t hear what is said. I don’t think any of the proposed wordings fit very well with what is said. I also don’t think this is of any importance at all.
How about waiting until the official launch in October, before starting spinning on conspiracy theories?? Either it works or it does not work.
Problem is that the Greek 1MW Power Station will not prove anything it will be powered externaly. Power Station in Greece It will only be a larger continuation of the SCAM to atract investor money from all over the world.
If you read other posts on this page you would know that there will be no Power Station in Greece in October.
Why can’t we see the relationship during the entire experiment of power in to power out? Every decent sized college has the ability to test this system. Why not bring this into a lab and do it? Why wait till the 1MW demo unit is built? Is it the problem that to do these measurements would show an untoward result, negating the demo unit?
As an engineer, I can tell you it is more important to be right, than to be secret. To not confirm results in the scientific community it a sign of weakness, not strength. What is there to hide? If he gets a patent he will have to explain the operation, so what is the problem? This leaves significant doubts in the minds of the technical community he needs to support his invention. If it really works it would behoove him to broadcast it far and wide, with independent test results. Because he doesn’t I am doubtful that it does work.

For those who don’t follow the Rossi/Defkalion story closely, this parting of the ways is especially “telling”. Defkalion had consistently written in their forum that they had built their own version of the E-cat they called the Hyperion. And they wrote that the Hyperion provided an output/input energy ratio of at least 6X and that they most commonly got much more than that, typically 18X *in actual experiments* performed by them!
Defkalion’s statements were held out by believers as independent evidence that Rossi’s E-cat worked. Now Rossi says that Defkalion never received “any technology”. So clearly, someone lied. And the only evidence left now in favor of the E-cat is the inadequate steam production experiments.
In one of the enthusiast discussions, it was suggested that some of the blame for inadequate testing lies with Kullander, Essen, Levi and others who had a chance to properly measure the input and output energies of the E-cat and didn’t. It’s probably a bit unfair to fault those folks after the fact but it’s a point to consider. Rossi would not have gotten this far if anyone of the scientists who received a demonstration had been a bit more critical and precise. Testing the E-cat properly is a simple application of calorimetry. How to do it right is not a mystery to anyone who has studied fluid flow and heat transfer physics or engineering and it is neither difficult nor expensive to do the job properly in less than a week’s time.
It’s a good thing Mr. Krivit did his part so well.
